Michelle Obama has graced the covers of several fashion magazines even before she started residing at the White House. Her fashion sense is said to rival that of Jacqueline Kennedy. She hit the campaign trail in chic and yet smart outfits. The unique Michelle Obama fashion sense has won her a special tribute from The Council of Fashion Designers of America.
She is known to wear Narciso Rodriguez, Jason Wu and Thakoon Panichgul, but she also has an affinity to lesser-known designers. There is nothing extra ordinary about her sense of style, but she has a knack of making a boring outfit elegantly interesting. She can even stand out in a low-budget outfit, just like the gown she wore on the inauguration. The yellow ensemble was made by Cuban-American Isabel Toledo.
Even the First Lady’s fashion sense is not void of controversy. She is often photographed in sleeveless tops and this has caused quite a stir. It raised questions of appropriateness. Conservatives think that it is not appropriate for someone of her stature to wear sleeveless tops in official functions. It even raised the logic of wearing sleeveless during a cold weather.
The smart-looking sleeveless tops she would usually wear sparked a unique Michelle Obama fashion style. It has become more stylish for women to show off their toned arms. In fact, the much anticipated Michelle Obama Female Force comic shows her in a sleeveless top with arms folded highlighting her biceps.
She doesn’t seem to dress up to impress the fashion world. This is understandable, considering her manic lifestyle as a successful lawyer, mother of two and wife of a president. The Michelle Obama fashion sense is almost seems to be that of a utilitarian. It is obvious that she knows how to choose an outfit that flatters her figure.
Michelle Obama has the courage to wear bright jewel tones. She has a penchant of wearing colourful dresses as well. Making them work the way ordinary women wouldn’t. Again, just take for example the gowns she wore during the inauguration. They were unexpectedly elegant considering the shade of yellow that were used.
The Michelle Obama fashion sense is young and sophisticated, very much different from the usual drab that the previous First Ladies wore. She is a lot younger than the other First Ladies and we got used to seeing a President with a woman boringly dressed beside him during inauguration. This is the first time after Jacqueline Kennedy that we saw a First Lady that could make it on the cover of major fashion magazines.
Being the strong independent woman that she is, the brouhaha over her fashion style doesn’t seem to faze her a bit. She is unrepentant of her biceps-showing outfits. Nor is she about to get a stylist to accommodate the conservative’s whim. The unique Michelle Obama fashion is destined to become a classic look that will be transcend time. Years from now, video clips of the inaugural would still be shown and she would still look as stylish as ever.

Help answer the question aboutfashion magazine
Does anyone here work at a fashion magazine?I'm thinking about working at a fashion magazine when I'm older. I graduate in a little over a year and I really need to start thinking about it. So what's it like? What do you do? Do you meet famous people? Is it difficult? Do you write a lot? What should my major in college be?

it s not about the what kind of camera is…
either can be a medium format camera or a D SLR (Single lens reflex) like in fact it s.
the things is more about the light setting, temperature of light and many other things around the professional medium.

Jayce,
This movement has been going on for a long time. Check out strobist some time. Their motto basically outlines everything you just said.
Better lights do not mean a better shot. Light smarter and more creatively and you’ll achieve much better results.

i know this is an old post but darn, let the guy grow into the professional stuff. not everyone have the money to buy a $1500+ light kit. I intern w/ a guy who shoots w/ ABs and he’s one of the top celebrity photogs in the city. It’s the final output that matters. It doesn’t matter what u shoot with. In the end, can you deliver a quality product that meets client’s standards..

I love Allure because its a good mix of fashion, health, science (as it relates to beauty) and beauty tips. Harpers Bizarre is good if you just want a magazine dedicated strictly to high fashion.

i think the closest one (in america) would be vogue or teen vogue, glamour is ok also.
they are more fashion based magazines, although some of the fashions may be based of celebrities, but there isn't much celeb gossip or such.
hope i helped!

Hi, Emily.
This is really easy.
All you have to do is email the magazine company that you want to work for.
Working for a magazine company is really fun.
I never get tired of doing it.
You sometimes get to pick out models and clothes for them
Good luck

Best advice i can give you is to pursue a career in fashion design. After you have completed college, write or call the magazine company you would like to work for and work out something with them.
Google your question. 8 times out of 10 it works for me.
